Takara was born and raised in Washington, DC where she and her elder sister grew up under the guidance of her single mother. Incredibly shy as a child, family members were convinced Takara was a mute because she didn't talk. As she got a little older, Takara began to prove she was anything but mute. She made her debut on stage as 'Orchid' in Rose Petal's Place when she was 6 years old. At 10 she was selected to study the work of Shakespeare and alongside a small ensemble of her peers, perform "Romeo and Juliet" in front of the class, portraying multiple characters from the story. While a sophomore at the School Without Walls High School, a public magnet school in Washington, DC, the Drama teacher insisted Takara enroll in her class after she delivered a short in-class skit. Interest piqued, Takara enrolled in the class that next year. Despite the class having little impact on Takara's pursuit of the stage, it encouraged her to showcase her talents; and that experience strengthened her resolve to pursue a career in the arts. With a move to Atlanta to begin that pursuit, her efforts have taken her to both coasts, the Southeast and Midwest regions of the Continental US. In 2012, she launched her own production company, ArakaT Productions (Takara spelled in reverse). She wrote, produced, and starred in a comedy web series pilot, In-Dependants. In her spare time she advocates for mental health awareness and reform, as well as improving the public education system. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Management
